Oh, we have a jampacked issue this week.
We’ve got lots of fun stuff: New police officers in Acushnet (page 18) and Fairhaven (page 4), a new K9 in Acushnet, too (page 16).
The dancing in the street is back (see page 12).
The concerts in the center, concerts under the stars, whatever you call them, the are back. And it looks like people had a really great time.
It is a fun event, so if you havent gone yet, make it a point to get there. Take a chair, though.
Fairhaven has a voluntary water ban (see page 5). So, take it easy with those sprinkler systems.
We also have a fun story about four power women in our town government. Our Town Administrator, schools superintendnet, chair of the Select Board, and chair of the School committee are all women. Pretty cool, huh? See our story on page 6 to see what these women have to say.
It was fun to interview them. It does signal a bit of hope, as they said, which is especially needed with all anyone can think about is the price of gas. Women’s rights? Nah…gotta get gas prices down. Climate change (as I keep the AC on even at 3 a. m.)? Nah..gas prices.
Let the democracy-destroyer back in ofice? Well, can he bring down gas prices?
Honestly, I just can’t even stand it.
Get your laws off my body. The funny thing? This is the same group that screamed about bodily integrity beause they had to wear a mask or get a shot. Imagine if they’re forced to stay pregnant against their wishes?
And if none of that matters, if you’re just so hopelessly uncaring about anyone except yourself? Just remember: “First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out — because I was not a socialiast…” you know the rest.
Until week then..see ya
