Shepherd’s Pantry Says Thank You
I want to take this opportunity to thank the Greater New Bedford Track Club (GNBTC) members for, once again, coordinating the annual Turkey Trot this past Thanksgiving morning. The bulk of the financial proceeds from the road race went to the Shepherd’s Pantry located in Acushnet.
Last week I was invited by, GNBTC President, Meghan Rogers, to attend their monthly meeting so they could hand me a check of $20,000.00 to benefit the Shepherd’s Pantry. This year marks 26 years that the pantry’s dedicated volunteers have been helping out the less fortunate each Saturday morning between the hours of 9 to 11 a.m.
We couldn’t keep our doors open if it wasn’t for kind donors and volunteers throughout the year. And the GNBTC is one of those special groups of individuals that are enthusiastically willing to help their local community. We should all appreciate what they do.
