So, we officially have a five-person Select Board now, and a woman chairperson and a black vice chair. Go figure.
Fairhaven, you’re almost in the 21st century. Now, let’s get that flag/banner business out of the way next, okay? (See page 4)
Things are picking up in the event categories. The weather is warming up, everyone’s ignoring COVID, and we’re all breathing on each other again.
This Saturday is one of my favorite events. The NFIA is having its annual Easter Egg Hunt at Livesey Park. (See page 5). It’s a bit early, but that just means you’ll have more of the day to do other stuff, right?
Start marking your calendars for the Cherry Blossom Fest (page 5), road races, and all kinds of other outdoor stuff coming up soon.
Almost forgot Marathon Monday in Boston (see page 9). Boston’s not all that hard to get to and it’s a crazy day in the city. If you like that kind of energy, hop on the T and add to the festivities.
Oh…we have a fun one for you on page 13. Two cousins who have birthdays only a week apart and turned 100 years old this week. Yup, 100. How cool is that? One lives in Fairhaven, and one lives in Acushnet.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Cousins are the BEST!
The Flashlight Egg Hunt is another fun event (see page 12). All the kidlets running around with their flashlights and then having a chance to see the Easter Bunny.
We had a couple of lightning strikes in town after that last storm. I totally spaced on calling the Fire Department for details, but ML Baron managed to talk to one of the owners of a house that got hit. See page 6 for that.
Time to wrap it up.
