We’re baaack!
Did you miss us?
I truly hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. Now, it’s time to get back to the grind.
A bunch of the usual crazies jumped into the water in January. BRRR!!! I know it was a warmer than usual New Year’s Day, but…oh my, it’s still January, y’know?
The Fort Phoenix Polar Plunge was lots of fun (see page 12), as usual. It’s a great way to start out the year…um, well, for me it’s great to take pictures and see everyone and talk to everyone. I’ll see those waves in July (maybe June, but not likely).
And then, an hour or so later, a couple decided to take a different kind of plunge on West Island. Mike and Kelly Joseph surprised just about everyone by getting married right before West Island’s little plunge. What fun! See page 13 for that.
We have some meeing coverage for you. Fairhaven Select Board (page 4) heard all about the DEP’s possible new mandate for homeowners. It’s a doozy, too.
Acushnet will also be hit with those regulations. They are having a citizens forum on Thursday, 1/12 (see page 21) to discuss it.
We’ll be keeping an eye on this one.
Speaking of Acushnet, the Hamlin Street Bridge project begins on Monday (see page 17). The road will be closed for close to three years. Yeah…YEARS. Go figure. That had better be some super-duper bridge they’re building, huh?
There’s other stuff in here, of course. As you look for it, be sure to notice who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
And if you have a business of your own, check out the rates on page 19 and email us to get your ad in the paper that everyone actually reads.
Until next week then… see ya,
Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
