Y’know, it’s just too late for me to deal with this latest they-all-need-a-babysitter thing.
So, you decide for yourself. See page 19* (and page 4), to learn about how some snowflake (remember the snowflakes?) had to turn around the rainbow/pride, aka “gay pride” sign at the visitors center.
It was going to rattle some nerves. Geesh.
So Gary Lavalette apologizes for not putting the sign back, then it all would’ve gone away…no clue.
He also says there was no ill intent…still no clue.
Alas, can’t y’all just retire and live on the beach somewhere?
Of course it’s never that simple. Wayne Oliveira says he has no idea when/how/why/who about the sign getting turned away. Mr. Lavalette says he was told to do it, but he wasn’t the one to DO it, and, he won’t say who told him to move it.
Geesh.
We have some other stuff in here, of course, including a bunch of pictures from the town auction. Now, that’s a fun event. And the town made a little bit of money on it. I might even have some bonus pics for the online story.
We have some Acushnet news, too (page 16). They’re starting to dive into the town meeting articles, so…that’s always fun (no, really, it is). They’re also having a great author event at the library (see page 6).
And, there’s a special walking tour in the center on Saturday (see page 6*). And, not to forget..the Z is having a freebie day for their 40th anniversary (see page 3).
