Block Party this weekend! The neighborhood is going to take advantage of that nice new sidewalk on Ferry Street. See page 5 for details.
We have meeting coverage for you. Geesh… some people just have to control everything.
See page three for the Planning Board and how they could not pick a chairperson. Patrick Carr is insisting, of course, that nobody can do it like he can. Hmm…y’know, I think he’s right, but for very different reasons. See page 3 for that.
He’s also all hell bent on getting his other board, the ZBA, packed with yessers. Oh, well, that didn’t work out. I predict that the new “green,” “off the street” guy is going to be the best thinker on that board, instead of just saying yes to everyone. See page 4 for that.
The Commission on Disability sent in an update of their own. See page 19 to see what’s happening with that board.
We had a busy weekend in these parts.
The first Harborfest (page 13) was lots of fun, and in the mud too. Go on or website for a couple of bonus photos. It was the new Discover Fairhaven Director’s first Harborfest at Grimshaw Park and it was great. Lots of fun, plenty to do.
Now to the Fort: they shot the cannons! Or, at least one anyway. Fairhaven has bragging rights to the very first Naval Battle of the Revolutionary War. See page 11.
And the annual letter carriers food drive was this weekend, too. Each year we’ve been collecting less and less. It’s never too late to donate, though. See page 14 for details on how to do that. And there are bins at the Millicent Library and Stop & Shop.
There’s other stuff in here of course, so check out all the pages. And be sure to notice who our advertisers are and tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
Don’t worry, I haven’t given up on all you supporters of the Big Buffoon and the destruction of our democracy. It’s just too late right now, and I have to get this baby to bed. I’ll catch you next time
Until next week then, see ya,
Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
