Oh, right, sure…have Town Meeting on a Tuesday night. UGH. At least they were quick! Town Meeting got through all the articles in record time. See page 4 to find out how your tax dollars were spent.
Veterans Day was last Saturday. The day to thank veterans was pretty warm and a decent showing of people came out to show support during the parade and the speechmaking. See page 12.
Dorothea Machado, 99, gave the keynote address. What a story she has. She joined the Navy when she was just 20 and hasn’t stopped since. The town gave her a proclamation, which she seemed to be surprised about and seemed to be happy to get. But, I’m not sure, it was hard to hear, but I think she was pushing for another one next year when she’ll be 100. I think we should accommodate that wish!
We have meeting coverage for you too, besides the TM. See page 17 for BPW.
Coming up, we have Thanksgiving next week. So if you haven’t donated your food items or money to the food pantry, get on it. They’ll need that stuff to give families a feast who otherwise could not afford it. Everyone should have a feast on Thanksgiving.
The bazaars and holiday happenings are starting to pick up. So, keep an eye out for them.
Turkey Trot next week, the bonfire (well, weather dependent), toy drives, all that and more. Just check out each page.
And while you’re doing that, be sure to notice who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News. Oh, that reminds me. Last chance to order your ad on the frequency buy to get in our annual shopping issue which is next week.
Until next week then… see ya,
Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
