Trapilo is What You See is What you Get

June 3, 2026 by Staff Writer

Trapilo is What You See is What you Get

I lived in Fairhaven for 15 years and quickly developed a fondness for this special place.  With its rich history and natural beauty, the town is bursting with promise. The Select Board needs qualified leadership; someone with the vision, credentials, work ethic, and proven results to help Fairhaven truly thrive and reach its full potential. Rick Trapilo is undoubtedly that person.

The management and leadership skills that Rick has developed through his extensive business experience have prepared him for the responsibilities and requirements of a Select Board Member. He has demonstrated his ability to produce real results in Fairhaven’s local government through his short time serving on the Fairhaven Planning Board, and, most recently, through his service as Chairperson of the Atlas Tack Working Group (ATWG). In these roles, Rick has demonstrated that he’s able to interact with others respectfully and professionally, leading with kindness and an open mind.

As a member of the ATWG, I have personally witnessed his tenacity, open-minded leadership style, and true commitment to the town. Rick is a skilled communicator who never failed to follow through and follow-up. Under Rick’s leadership, we as a group were able to achieve great progress. After the Atlas Tack superfund site has sat idle as a public safety hazard for decades, the wheels are now in motion to see the building taken down and the property potentially redeveloped for the community’s benefit.

Beyond my experience with Rick at the ATWG, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Rick on a personal level. I’ve learned that with Rick, what you see is what you get. He is just as uplifting, receptive, and respectful in his personal life as he is in public settings. Fairhaven is fortunate to have someone of Rick’s caliber willing to serve on the Select Board. Fairhaven will undoubtedly benefit from his energy, optimism, solution-oriented mindset, and constant focus on the future.

I hope you will head to the polls on June 9th and cast your vote for Rick Trapilo in this crucial election race for Select Board.
