Spring is springing

Daffodils and Japanese cherry blossoms are blooming at Cooke Park, 2 Pilgrim Ave., Fairhaven, on 4/16/24, around the bench placed in honor of Dr. Shigeaki Hinohara, who was instrumental in the creation of the Whitfield-Manjiro Friendship House, which is on the same block. In 2012 Dr. Hinohara and his group donated 17 Japanese cherry trees to Fairhaven, with some planted at Cooke Park. Photo by Beth David.
