Susan B. Sullivan
Susan B. Sullivan, a 19 year Fairhaven resident, passed away on Sunday, April 7, after a short illness. She was 72.
Susan was surrounded by family and close friends at her home and slipped away peacefully.
She was a long time member of the Bay Area Senior Cyclists and previously served on the Fairhaven Bikeway Committee. She enjoyed reading, learning new technology, kayaking, dancing, and travel. While living and working in Needham, MA she taught aerobic dancing with Aerobic Patterns. With self-taught skills she created a blog chronicling her world travels to six continents.
Originally from New York City, Susan came to the Southcoast having retired from WCVB-TV after a long career as a television engineer and Technical Director. Her broadcast career started in Boulder, CO, where she helped build the public radio station KGNU and did a stint as on-air talent. In recent years she began acting in community theater and had appeared in productions at the Marion Art Center, Your Theater, The Little Theater in Fall River, and New Bedford’s 1440 Project Theater Collective.
She is survived by her husband Geoff and his two children and four grandchildren, her brother Gerald, and sister Michele. A Celebration of Life will be held to honor her to be announced. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to her favorite charities, Buzzards Bay Coalition, Planned Parenthood, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
