The New Bedford Film Festival returns for its 3rd annual celebration from Thursday to Sunday, April 9–12, 2026, bringing bold, diverse cinematic storytelling to the heart of the South Coast. What began as a grassroots effort to elevate local filmmakers has quickly grown into a multi-day festival that attracts artists, audiences, and industry voices from across the region and beyond. Rooted in New Bedford’s creative identity, NBFF is dedicated to showcasing authentic stories while cultivating emerging talent and strengthening the city’s creative economy.
The event kicks off with a with a free event happening at Steeple Playhouse and in collaboration with AHA! New Bedford on Thursday, April 9th. It then continues over four days where the festival transforms downtown New Bedford into a vibrant hub for film and culture, featuring a filmmakers breakfast, screenings, panels, workshops, and networking events across venues like the Steeple Playhouse, New Bedford Art Museum, Gallery X, and the New Bedford Harbor Hotel.
