Letter_America At a Crossroads

August 19, 2026 by Staff Writer

America at a Crossroads

I believe I wrote a letter with a similar title a while back outlining the importance of the 2024 election. I believe it was the intervention of God and the efforts of American patriots Trump won.

The great patriot president Ronald Reagan said freedom can be lost in one generation. It’s as true now as it was back then.

Much of the present-day Democratic party bears no resemblance to the party of President John Kennedy who said, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”

They have been hijacked by socialist communists whose goal is power and control. They are smooth, persuasive speakers who promise everything but ultimately deliver nothing, free health care, free housing, free groceries, a paycheck whether you work or not. In other words the communist manifesto, the workers paradise.

These are the enticements they use to deceive and seduce people. However, when they achieve power, they become entirely ruthless. Millions upon millions have been slaughtered by ruthless Communist dictators like Russia’s Stalin, China’s Mao Zedong, North Korea’s Kim Jong-un.

America is unique in world history. At no time in world history have so many people enjoyed the freedoms and opportunities so many have. For the most part, our founding fathers believed in God, many were Christians. They believed the inalienable right of individuals to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness were God given rights as stated in the preamble of our Constitution and enshrined in the First Amendment of or Bill of Rights which guarantees the freedom of religion, speech, press, and the right to petition the government. These rights were secured by the men and women who fought and died for them to the present age.

Sadly, it seems that too many Americans have lost sight of this. We have become too complacent. The truth is we have it too good, myself included.

In many ways it’s not the same country I grew up in. I remember when people were ashamed to be on welfare. Marriage was between a man and a woman. Sex outside of marriage was frowned upon. We said the Lord’s prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance in classrooms. American history was taught the way it happened.

However, I am not despairing. There are still many patriotic Americans. The legacy of Charlie Kirk lives on. Many young people are coming to Bible-preaching churches. Many have joined the service, become police and firemen.

Because I love this country and have enjoyed the freedoms and opportunities that I have had, I will continue to support candidates who love and cherish this country, support the Constitution, and will be willing to fight and die for it.

In closing, I would like to say if not for Trump, Iran would have the atomic bomb and the ICBMs to deliver them. He needs to continue to eradicate them, if not they will be coming for us.
