The third annual Kids Fest organized by the Fairhaven Office of Tourism drew hundreds to the fair grounds on the lawn of the Visitors Center and Fairhaven High School on Saturday, 10/14/23, for fun actitivies, vendors and a little entertainment.
The Azorean Cultural Society sang and played a few songs, while pirates dueled and threw people in the brig. There was food, and free pumpkin painting; and lots of fun toys to try out for kids of all ages.
The Halloween Swap by the Fairhaven Sustainability Committee was a big success, with gently used costumes that had been donated over the course of the past few weeks quickly disappearing on Saturday.
Vendors were happy with the turnout, said Tourism Director Chris Richard, pointing out that even Zoe, a dog getting $2 for kisses to benefit the animal shelter, was all smooched out by 1:30 p.m.
The event was sponsored by the Office of Tourism and Millicent Library Youth Services.
