Vietnam veterans will be honored at a special event this weekend. The Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 499 invites everyone to National Vietnam War Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. Sun., 3/29 at the Fort Taber-Fort Rodman Military Museum and Veterans Memorial at Fort Taber Park, 1000C South Rodney French Blvd., New Bedford.
The military museum will open at 10 a.m. with refreshments. This will be followed by a ceremony with speakers inside the museum at the Vietnam section.
At about 1 p.m., the ceremony will move to the Vietnam memorial in the park. There will be a benediction, laying of a wreath and the sounding of “Taps.’’
After the wreath laying ceremony, participants may gather at the museum for refreshments and fellowship.
