Have you seen Westie? He’s been out there on the edge of the sidewalk since July, just collecting stones and getting bigger. It’s a very fun idea that really caught on. I hope you get a chance to see it.
We have a little more on the last Select Board meeting (page 4). They’re only meeting about once a month, so I need to milk ‘em for all I can, which is easy enough because the meetings last forever.
We have other fun stuff in here, of course. The weekend’s events include the last Huttleston Marketplace of the season (page 5); the annual encampment of the Fairhaven Village Militia (page 3); the Lakeville Family Festival (page 3); and so many other fun events on the Happenings pages, 5,6,7.
The restored sundial at the Millicent Library is back on display (see page 13).
And have you had a chance to see those wind turbines yet…I mean the ones in pieces (see page 13).
There are also lots of other stories that I am working on behind the scenes, that are not yet ready for prime time, as the saying goes. Patience people. I’m working on them. I’m running a real newspaper here. That means it takes time to do things. I’m also pretty much a one-person shop, so…patience, Grasshopper, patience.
You can help, too. Get the local businesses you frequent to advertise with us. And don’t be shy about tossing $20 or so our way. If you read the paper, then I’m sure you agree it’s worth that.
And be sure to tell our advertisers you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
Until next week then, see ya
