We’re BAACCKKK!!!
And, oh, what fun we have for you this week (see page 3). Unfortunately, the hearing about Mr. Lavalette’s behavior while on the Conservation Commission is not quite over, so I’ll hold off commenting in this space until they’re done with the proceedings.
Meanwhile, trust me when I say you really, really, really need popcorn for this one, and….ah, maybe make sure the kids are out of the room while you watch it.
The Select Board also had a regular meeting this week. They heard more about the Benoit Square proposed changes, and the Goulart/Causeway bridge. See page 13 for details on those two projects.
The Causeway is years out, it seems. That’s too bad. I know the summer people are all fretting about something ugly going up, but, hey, you need to be here in the winter and see how often that water splashes over that road.
Heh. Retired people crack me up. They mosey on in for a few months out of the year and think they get to decide everything because…well, I don’t know why because. I just know that some of us live here year-round and we have to go places. We can’t just be all delighted that the causeway is impassable and sit there in our big windows and watch the show. We work, y’know.
The board talked about a whole bunch of other stuff, too, but… no room for it this week. Hopefully we’ll flush out some more of it next week.
Our cover story is definitely a fun one. I mean, firefighter gear, water, and free stuff. What’s not to like? See page 12 for that.
“The Magazine” crew picked up the award in New York a couple of weeks ago. See page 18 for some fun pictures. And we have some scholarship awards, too, here. and here.
