It’s Earth Day week! Time to participate in activities to help our planet. See the happenings pages, 5, 6, 7, for events you can join, including local cleanups and Arbor Day events.
The Fairhaven Selectboard had a marathon meeting this week. See page 3 for some of it, including the date for the special election to vote on the Prop. 2 1/2 override.
In other news…
The Neighb News filed an Open Meeting Law complaint against the Fairhaven BPW (see page 12). A little awkward to have to write up a story about a meeting I was part of as an agenda item. Ah well, the challenges of being pretty much a one-person shop. I encourage you to watch the meeting online and see for yourself if they handled it the way they should have.
This weekend the outdoor stuff starts to happen in earnest. The West Island 5K on Sunday (see page 5); the FIA shrubbery program already in progress; and Town Meeting in two weeks.
Ah, yes, Town Meeting. I assure you it will be the most glorious day yet.
We have some fun stuff in here, too, of course. Be sure to thumb through every page to see it all.
And please notice who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
And feel free to support this little venture yourself with a donation. We need advertisers AND reader support to keep this baby going.
Next week we should have another story on the budget/Prop 2 1/2 override. I just didn’t have time this week. Two more issues before Town Meeting!
Until next week then…see ya,
Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
