OOO MMM GGG! Really. You can’t make up this stuff. If I did, it wouldn’t even make it in the fiction world because it’s too ridiculous.
First, the Selectboard continues to be an embarrassment. Shutting people off, muting them, rudely just shutting them down, all of that would not be possible if people could be in the room. Some power-hungry little snits are getting their jollies off of pushing people around, and it has to stop. Grow the hell up. Really. (See page 4.)
Okay, that was Monday. Let’s move on to Tuesday.
The big interview with Wendy Graves, the special one, y’now because she wasn’t good enough to make it to be a finalist so they had to make a special meeting just for her, well, that didn’t happen. Why? Hold your hats, grab your drinks, and settle in: Because Ms. Graves had her lawyer send a cease and desist letter to Selectboard member Bob Espindola about something he allegedly said about her with the threat of a lawsuit behind the C&D (see page 6).
I kid you not.
So, I know times are tough and people are trying to find creative ways to stand out from the crowd to get considered for a job. But, well, suing the guy who’ll be your boss? Maybe I’m just old school, but that doesn’t seem like a winning strategy.
On the other hand, with this board, who knows? They make no sense half the time, and the other half they’re just rude and bullies.
But they’re at the top of their game. They have their little voting block, the chairperson has lattitude for a lot of things, especially being the one with the gavel (hee hee, it’s a gavel), and they are using their little bit of power to push around anyone they can. And THAT, Mr. Freitas, is shameful.
We have lots of other good suff in here, of course, including Board of can-you-say-shut-up Health (no, really, that happened, see page 13), and our cover story. Bask has opened for recreational marijuana.
Maybe they all should get high before a meeting. They could all use some mellowing out.

Until next week then, see ya
