Oh wow. Thanksgiving is next week. How did that happen?
We’ll be running our annual shopping issue and going to the big game (see page 3). The football team has been doing great this year, so…look out Dartmouth, the Blue Devils are coming for you!
Fairhaven Town Meeting wrapped up quickly this week, and finally passed the change to make the town clerk appointed instead of elected. It has to go to the voters, next. The big spending bill, to upgrade the treatment plant, also passed. See page 4 for that and more.
Veterans Day was this weekend. Fairhaven had its parade, and Acushnet held its annual ceremony (see page 12). Thank you Jim and Margie for covering for me while I recovered from a cold and couldn’t get there myself. Hopefully, I’ll be all healed up for the big game on Thanksgiving Day.
Elizabeth DaCunha popped in this week with a story on the Unified Sports Team. See page 14 for that. You remember her, right? She kept us up to date on what was happening during the pandemic when she was a freshman. Now she’s a senior! Wow.
And in Acushnet, young Noah Dionne has created a cool Eagle Scout project. See page 13 for how he and his troop are transforming the pollinator garden at the golf course.
And sall the holiday stuff is gearing up. See pages 3, 5, 6, 7 for that. And stay tuned each week for more.
There are other fun things in here, of course. Thumb through to find it all. And while you’re doing that, be sure to note who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
Until next week then, see ya
