Don’t forget…the Planning Board’s special “informational meeting” is on Tuesday (see page 5). If you’re a Town Meeting member and you want more info, check it out. If you’re not a TM member but want to know what to tell your TM rep, check it out. In any case, learn about the 40R proposal for Fairhaven. This will make a big change in town.
The fall events are starting to heat up (see 5, 6, 7). Oh, Summer, where did you go?
The Fairhaven Select Board had a monster meeting on Monday (see page 4). I could only work in so much. The plan is to get another story in next week with some of the other stuff. If you have time, though, you might want to watch and fast forward to the spot with John Medeiros and Jeff Lucas. I really couldn’t do it justice here.
Because…we have a jam-packed issue.
Acushnet’s special Town Meeting is Monday. They have a bit of spending to do. See page 7 for that.
Acushnet also planted a tree in the Parting Ways Green in memory of Norman Fredette (see page 14). He died very suddenly in May after a short illness at the age of 64.
Norm was probably the first real character I met when I started covering Acushnet so many years ago. He talked to me as if we knew each other our whole lives. He was a regular speaker and Town Meeting, and kind of fun at it, too. He will be sorely missed in Acushnet.
I for one am glad I knew him.
Back here in Fairhaven, Mark Paquette is thanking first responders for saving his life (see page 11). He had a heart attack and his heart completely stopped. Luckily, by then, he was already in the ambulance. He sounds very grateful all around.
There’s other stuff in here, of course. Make sure you notice who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
Until next week then, see ya,
Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
