Bummer…Dolly Parton is no longer with us. The multi-talented megastar was truly one of a kind. As a writer, I marvel at her simple turn of a phrase. And that voice!

She was also a great and compassionate human being.

Rest in Peace, Dolly.

Closer to home…

The Planning Board is in popcorn-worthy territory this week (see page 8). Mr. Carr and his cronies have way too much time on their hands. Page after page after page after page. A writing course in conciseness might do them well. Alas…no, I have not read every word yet. It’s already way past tomorrow.

As it is, I had to pull a fun day-trip story because tomorrow was bumping right into yesterday (okay, it’s late, or…er, early).

The Select Board also had a meeting (see page 4). Not nearly as entertaining, but they did get some work done.

And we have lots of fun stuff, too. Our cover story features old stuff: old techniques, old guns, old clothes. See page 12 for that.

Early voting ends tomorrow (see page 18) for the primary being held on 9/1.

Meanwhile the Big Buffoon is making lists and lists and lists. The Feds will soon be the ones to decide who gets to vote in this country. Hah! What could possibly go wrong, right?

Remember when Ronald Reagan said government needs to get out of the way, and the scariest words in the world are, “I’m from the government and I’m here to help”? Yeah, we’re there now.

And through it all the regime is plucking people off our streets for no cause at all and throwing them in prison and kidnapping them to countries they have no ties to.

I made bunch of notes on the fly for this part of the column, but…it’s late, and I’m having trouble understanding my scribbles. One word stands out very clearly, though: heartbreaking. This is heartbreaking for our country. And even more heartbreaking because of those who still think it’s okay.

There’s other stuff in here, of course. Thumb through to find it all, and while you do that, be sure to notice who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.

Until next week… see ya,

Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
