The voters have spoken.
Sadly, only 16% of registered voters in Fairhaven actually showed up, but…they have spoken. See page 12. And they decided they wanted new faces.
There’s all kinds of chatter on both sides about how bad or how good the result is. What it means, etc.
Some poeple are trying to spin it that those who got in are the same ole same ole because of who supported them. But, the reality is that two very well known town officials did not win the seats they wanted. That’s not the same ole same ole, guys. Keeping incumbents is the same ole same ole. Electing the regular faces is the same ole same ole.
This election season got a bit nasty at times. Let’s all put on our big kid pants now and move forward, okay?
We have a fun story about a rare waterdog breed called “Barbet.” Many thanks to Barbara Leger for writing the story. Because I was not going to get around to it. And, well, the puppies have a schedule, dontchaknow? See page 14 to learn about them.
The Big Buffoon’s random cuts have reached our little burg. See page 3 for the hit the Fairhaven school department is facing. And more cuts are on the way.
But, hey, he’s gonna save you some $5K in federal tax money, right? And your 401K is soaring! Um….no? Hmm…I’m sure it’ll come back. If you’re old, though, and don’t have time to wait, then tough luck, right? So much respect for old people.
Oh, and may I point out that MassHealth is Medicare? Anyone who has a parent in a nursing home who is getting it paid for by MassHealth needs to pay attention.
People are cheering on the breaking of things when they do not even know how they work. And that includes the Big Buffoon and his top campaign donor.
God help us all.
As for the cruelty this country is showing to immigrants now, it is completely contrary to what this country is supposed to be about. I said way back at the beginning of this nightmare that this guy didn’t even know what it meant to be an American. Now he’s proving it. And so many of you are cheering him on. I do not know what you learned about America in school, but it clearly was not the same as I learned.
But, more on that another time.
