Summer Concerts

Concerts are held rain or shine. In the event of rain, join us under the pavilion or in the community room. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Acushnet Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Wed., 7/2, 6–7:30 p.m. The Pearly Baker Band is known for playing Grateful Dead music, but they don’t consider themselves a cover band—they play Dead music their way. Early on, Pearly Baker realized that the Grateful Dead had created an interesting musical template that others could use to raise the level of joy in the world, song by song, show by show.

Wed., 7/9, 6–7:30 p.m. The Cameron Shave Jazz Orchestra (CSJO) is a dynamic big band based in Massachusetts, featuring some of the finest jazz musicians from New York and New England.

The ensemble is led by composer, arranger, and trumpeter Cameron Shave and brings high-energy performances that blend swing tradition with modern jazz innovation.

Raffle Fundraiser

Friends of the Acushnet Public Library will be holding a 50/50 raffle at each of the Acushnet library’s Wednesday evening outdoor Summer Concert Series. The winner of the raffle will receive half of the proceeds, with half retained by the Friends to fund future programs and services at the library. Tickets are $5 each (cash only) and can be purchased during the library’s Wednesday evening Summer Concert Series (June 25 – August 6, all concerts start at 6pm). For a list of concerts, see the Library’s Facebook page or website (https://acupl.org).

The Friends will also be accepting jewelry donations at the Wednesday concerts for their annual September jewelry sale fundraiser.
