Fairhaven’s Got Pride: A Celebration of Love, Family, and Inclusion, brought hundreds of people to the streets in front of Town Hall and around the corner to celebrate LGBTQ+ community members during Pride Month.
Young siblings Kenzi, Graeeson, and Lily were enjoying all the free activities with their adults, including drawing with chalk in the street.
“We’re here celebrating pride,” said Graeeson.
“I think it’s fantastic,” said Sydney, who wore a t-shirt that read: “The world has bigger problems than boys who kiss boys and girls who kiss girls.”
She said it was her first time at Fairhaven Pride, but she had been to many others.
Jessica Fidalgo, the chairperson of the Belonging Committee, one of the organizers of the event, said the got a good crowd, although the heat probably kept some people away.
“Our goal was for it to feel like a party,” she said. “And we did that.”
