The Fairhaven Cultural Council would like to publicly acknowledge and congratulate the 2026 Cultural Council Grant Recipients. We received 54 grant applications during this cycle. Through monies from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the Town of Fairhaven, we were able to fund 18 projects. These programs, events, and activities will take place in Fairhaven throughout the re-mainder of 2026.
The following grants were awarded for 2026:
• Aylin Cetik-Smith for Children’s Art Lab Summer Camp Scholarships
• Susan Darwin for Fairhaven Summer Art Gallery Assistants
• Aaron Dore for the Alive Old Time Radio Play
• The Fairhaven Green Lanterns for a Drought Tolerant Pollinator Garden
• The Fairhaven Historical Society for the lecture “Liberty’s First Crisis”
• The Fairhaven Improvement Association for Concerts Under the Stars, as well as, Homecoming Day Entertainment
• The Fairhaven Rec Center for Pollinator Gardens at the Rec Center
• The Fairhaven Village Militia for a Revolutionary War Living History Encampment
• Melanie Janksy for the Natural Heritage of Fairhaven Speaker Series
• Rhonda Matson for Backyard Band Jams Goes to Cushman Park
• Elizabeth Nelson for the Mini Big Top–A Mini Circus for Mini Readers
• New Bedford Ballet for Courage, Perseverance, and Trust: the Manjiro Story
• The North Fairhaven Improvement Association for Music Night in the Gazebo
• Lana Quann for Watercolor for Beginners at the Council on Aging
• The Millicent Library for Growing Things by Margaret Moody Puppets
• Town of Fairhaven Conservation and Sustainability Department for the Fairhaven Environmental Stewardship Collective
• Matt York for the Classic Country Music Review at the Council on Aging
