There are a whopping nine ballot questions for voters to decide this November. Activists have been busy-busy bees. See page 3 for a quick summary of what the questions are about. There are also a couple of forums to discuss them (see page 6), and I’m sure a few more will pop up before 11/3.
We have quite the mix of stories this week, which, I guess is not all that unusual. It does not get a whole lot more serious than our cover story. The VFW Auxiliary held an event in honor of POW/MIA Recognition Day. They read the names of 40 Mass. MIA, all from the Vietnam War years. There’s a reminder in the story that Fall River has a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at 80%. Fall River is a quick ride from here, folks, so consider taking a ride to see it. See page 12.
Then weve got a fun story on page 13, about the new BMX pump track (for people who do tricks on their bikes that are way too small for them) at Macomber & Pimental Park on the neck. Pretty cool spot.
And now, there’s no avoiding the Big Buffoon this week. He has kicked out news outlets he does not like. Really, what part of “free press” is so hard for his little brain to comprehend? But that one is easy. The lawyers can handle it.
Much more distressing is that the Big Buffoon’s goons shot another harmless person, in the back this time. A Venezuelan immigrant who is in this country legally, has no criminal record, and works hard for a living. He’s a DoorDash driver. Or, he was. It is unclear if he will ever be able to drive again. The goons shot him in the back, handcuffed him, then removed him from the hospital with the bullet still in his back, and took him to a detention center. They never even gave him a damned aspirin for his pain. He has lost feeling on one side of his body. His condition is unknown at the moment.
He’s 28 years old and might never recover.
28 years old.
We did that. The United States of America. The one with the Constitution, the Rule of Law, and a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
We used to be the good guys.
And now the ICE goons are in New Bedford. They reportedly kidnapped eight people off the streets in the city across the river.
How can any of you still support this guy?
