As voters prepare to make critical decisions on the November 3 ballot, the League of Women Voters SouthCoast and United Interfaith Action are mobilizing with community partners to deliver essential voter education and spark meaningful dialogue directly in two of the region’s Gateway Cities. The League is proud to sponsor upcoming Ballot Question Forums in New Bedford and Fall River, allowing voters to consider diverse perspectives, ask questions, and engage in meaningful civic discussion.
The forums will be held:
• New Bedford: Thursday, October 1, 6–8 p.m., Keith Middle School, 225 Hathaway Blvd.
• Fall River: Thursday, October 22, 6–8 p.m., Good Shepherd Parish, 1598 S. Main Street.
A central focus of the League’s voter-education efforts is Ballot Question 1, Expanding the Public Records Law. SouthCoast League Chair Eileen J. Marum has a leadership role in educating voters about the question and the issues surrounding public access to government records.
The forums reflect the League’s longstanding commitment to informed voting, transparency, accountable government, and active civic participation. By creating space for voters to hear directly about the nine questions before them, the League, United Interfaith Action, and its community partners are helping strengthen the connection between informed citizens and a healthy democracy.
The SouthCoast League of Women Voters, in partnership with the United Interfaith Action, encourages residents from throughout the region to attend, bring their questions, and share information about the forums with their families, neighbors, community organizations, and friends.
