We had a somber anniversary last week. The 9-11 attacks were 25 years ago.
Acushnet held a ceremony at its 9-11 memorial with that very impressive steel beam from the Twin Towers. See page 12 for that.
And on page 13, you’ll find two stories, one about a short ceremony before the football game, and one about the state’s ceremony in Boston. Glenn decided to make trek up to the big city, so we have some great pics of that. Both have links to video, so you can watch for yourself if you want.
It was not all sadness, though, this week, although the rain worked hard to ruin things. Acushnet, God bless ’em, did not cancel day two of the Apple Peach Festival (see page 11). Day one was spectacular. On day two they did cancel the parade but the feast grounds were open and the performers played (at least some of them).
Even the princesses showed up. I wasn’t there, so no pic, but I saw it on Facebook…so it must be true, right?
The Fairhaven Select Board met this week. See page 3 to see what they’re up to.
All committee members have to reapply for their appointments because things ned to get realigned to comply with teh new bylaws. So, don’t forget.
Time to sign off. It’s a been especially tough making deadline this week. Why do computers/programs always act up on deadline day? Ugh…two hours of tech support hell on deadline day is just brutal.
So, the Big Buffoon gets a pass.
