No, no, say it ain’t so!
WAH! WAH! WAH! The school bus schedule is in this issue (sniff, sniff), you know what that means (page 21).
Before you let summer go, though, check out the pics on page 6: field of white, sea of white, bed of white…alas, who cares? The white flowers in the fields on Sconticut Neck Road are striking this year. I just had to get some pics, but…ah well. The photos do not do them justice. I did learn that they are Queen Anne’s Lace, and they have edible roots. Cool, huh?
We’ve got some meeting coverage for you this week. The rest of the Fairhaven Select Board meeting that I only half covered last week, is on page 4. Board of Public Works is on page 18.
The BPW talked about the poop plants, the main one on Arsene Street and the one on West Island. The Arsene Street neighbors have had a tough summer. With the construction at the plant and in the neighborhood they’ve had noise and odor.
On West Island, there has been a lot of conjecture and questions about that treatment plant. Jeff Osuch the former Fairhaven Executive Secretary, gave an overview of the process it took to get the West Island plant approved by all who had to approve it. It took three years. I encourage anyone who has questions about who can tie in, if there’s capacity, what the restrictions are and why to, go to FairhavenTV.com and call up the 8/17/26 BPW meeting; fast forward to the 57 minute mark, and listen to the explanation by Mr. Osuch.
Go by the rules and regs and laws, he said.
Really, if you don’t like ’em, work to change ’em. Don’t just ignore them. They were put there for a reason.
Oh, speaking of rules and regs and laws and disregarding them….the Lawbreaker in Chief actually did something legal….wait for it….The Big Buffoon voted…by mail. Yeah, by mail, AGAIN! He is actively, intensely, relentlessly pushing his ludicrously named SAVE America Act, which would make it illegal to vote by mail because, he says, it’s cheating, by it’s nature, inherently (well, that’s a big word for him so he probably didn’t use that word exactly. Of course, when he does, it’s okay. How can anyone still support this guy?
There’s other stuff in here, of course. Thumb through to find it all, and while you do that, be sure to notice who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
Until next week… see ya,

Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
