Planning Board is in Charge of Serious Stuff
I asked our friend, Google, about the responsibilities of a municipal planning board; here is what I learned. The planning board guides municipal growth and development. It reviews and approves subdivision plans to ensure safe roads, adequate utilities and proper drainage. The board leads long-range planning efforts to address the town’s future needs regarding housing, economic development, natural resources and infrastructure. Pretty serious stuff!
In his last speech from the movie “The American President”, Michael Douglas says “We have serious problems to solve and we need serious people to solve them.”
I can’t think of three more qualified, intelligent, serious people to serve on Fairhaven’s Planning Board than Kevin Grant, Andrew Panek and Mona Phillips! I encourage you to vote for them on Tuesday, June 9th.
