Eighth Bristol District Representative Steve Ouellette announces the hiring of Jessica Fidalgo as Legislative Aide, effective April 17, 2026, following the retirement aide Craig Dutra.
Craig Dutra joined Representative Ouellette’s office at the beginning of his term in 2025 and has been a steady presence in serving the district. He will continue his work in local leadership in Westport, remaining active in the community.
Jessica joins the office with a background in municipal leadership, customer service, and government operations. She attended the Citizens’ Legislative Seminar in 2025, gaining knowledge of how the state Senate operates. She just completed an internship in our office, where she gained hands-on experience in constituent services, legislative research, and district office operations.
She will be graduating from BristolCC in May with Honors and multiple awards. Her work in municipal settings has involved elected leadership on the planning board, supporting the operations of both the board and the office, research and bylaw writing for zoning and the approval of applications. She has years of experience engaging with residents, supporting local boards and committees, and navigating community concerns with a focus on responsiveness, education, and problem-solving. She brings a strong understanding of how local and state government intersects with a commitment to making government more accessible to the people it serves.
In her role as Legislative Aide, Jessica will support municipalities and constituents with state services, assist with legislative priorities, and help strengthen outreach and communication across the district. The office will continue to emphasize accessibility, timely response, and collaboration with municipal leaders and community organizations.
