Easter Bunny
Dear Frankie,
For as long as I can remember, I have celebrated Easter with the Bixbys.
The Bixby twins are my age and super fun to play with. We each get an Easter basket from the bunny and have a big Easter egg hunt. Last year, the bunny hid 100 eggs in some really hard-to-reach places. Breeze Bixby, the oldest in their family, usually finds the most eggs. He is a tall Afghan Hound, so lots of eggs hidden up high are right at his eye level. After the hunt, we eat a big, yummy dinner and have Mrs. Bixby’s homemade bunny-shaped coconut cake for dessert.
Next week, we are moving far away. I feel sad about leaving my friends and missing Easter with them this year. I’m also worried the Easter Bunny won’t know where to find me to leave my basket. Is there any way I can send him a message?
Scotty
Dear Scotty,
There is no need to worry that the bunny doesn’t know where you are.
If Mrs. Bixby hasn’t notified the bunny, I’m sure your parents have. If it would make you feel better, you can always check with them just to be sure. You have enough to be concerned with moving to a new area, living in a different house, and making new friends. Moving can be stressful and emotional. So, whatever you can do to reduce your stress and remain calm, do it.
I don’t have an in with the bunny; if I did, I would suggest this was the year he filled your basket to the brim.
Best, Frankie
