The Town of Acushnet is holding a pop-up event to get input from residents on the town’s Complete Streets Prioritization Plan, on Tuesday, 1/27/26, from 2:30–7 p.m., at the Acushnet Public Library, 232 Middle Road.
Community members are invited to stop by anytime during the pop-up hours to share feedback on where it feels safe or unsafe to walk, bike, or drive in Acushnet. They will have maps to mark up, visual preference surveys, and other simple, interactive tools to gather input. The short presentation will summarize existing challenges and highlight opportunities to make getting around town safer and more comfortable for everyone.
The outreach is part of a broader planning effort to identify and prioritize transportation improvements across Acushnet, with a strong focus on safety, accessibility, and everyday travel needs.
The effort is being run through the Town’s planning department, with the Department of Public Works and Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Committee.
How to Participate

Complete Streets are about designing and maintaining roads that are safe and comfortable for everyone — whether you’re walking, biking, driving, using a mobility device, or taking the bus.
We’re looking to you to tell us where you’d like to see improvements, whether it’s new sidewalks, better crosswalks, bike facilities, or intersection changes. If something doesn’t feel safe or comfortable, we want to know.
We’re taking a close look at how Acushnet works today — then identifying where the biggest challenges and opportunities are.
We’re reviewing things like:
• The existing walking and biking network (sidewalks, shoulders, crossings, bike comfort)
• Safety and crash trends
• Key destinations people travel to (schools, parks, town buildings, local businesses)
• Vehicle speeds and problem areas
• Where there are gaps that make it hard to get around
