January 7, 2026 by Staff Writer

Mayor Jon Mitchell and the Community Preservation Committee (CPC) invite all interested members of the public to review the FY26  Community Preservation Act (CPA)  applications submitted for funding consideration and to provide public comment at two remaining virtual meetings in January: Thurs., 1/15 & 22 at 6 p.m., via Zoom only.

Visit https://www.newbedford-ma.gov/planning/application-info/ to learn about the applications and Zoom link information.

The CPC received 28 applications seeking over $4.5 million in funding. For FY26, there is $2.2 million available to be awarded by the CPC.

After the January presentations, the CPC will review each application and submit their FY26 funding recommendations to City Council for their consideration.
