Hmmm…feels like fall is trying to make an early appearance. My money is still on summer, though, hanging on for a bit
The Fairhaven Select Board held a marathon meeting this week. See page 4 for a couple of the items they discussed, including the unveiling of the mysterious 40B developer. Surprise, surprise, surprise, it’s the Park Motors propert. Go figure.
Next meeting isn’t for three weeks, so there’s time to write about the rest of the meeting before they meet again.
Meanwhile, summer events are winding down. But New Bedford still has some outdoor concerts scheduled (see page 8), and in a week or two, the end of summer stuff happens. Save the date for Labor Day weekend for the biggest little feast and then Apple Peach Festival. Then, alas….school will be in session full time by then.
But we still might have a few good beach days, quahogging days (if New Bedford doesn’t poop up the water), and boat/fishing days.
Don’t put any summer stuff away yet!
Our cover story is a fun one. The kids got to blow horns, push buttons, and climb all over big trucks at Livesey Park. This will be a nice annual event to add to the summer roster. See page 12 for some fun pics.
Volunteers did a great job of cleaning up two beach areas last weekend. (See page 19.) Where do all those tires come from?
There’s a lot of other stuff in here, of course, including lots of happenings. Make sure you notice who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
Until next week then, see ya,
Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
