Sycamore Street gets cleaned up a bit

Just nine volunteers with Operation Clean Sweep removed 46 tires, five pallets, wood, a propane tank, a chair and three bags of trash from the marsh and shore along the bottom of Sycamore Street and a surrounding area in Fairhaven on Saturday, 8/17/24. The tires were stretched along a quarter to half mile along the shore.

“A huge undertaking to remove,” wrote Operation Clean Sweep on its Facebook page. “Amazing what just nine focused volunteers can achieve.”

This was their 11th environmental cleanup this season. But they are not done. Find them on Facebook for learn more. And keep and eye on the Neighb News Happenings pages for more cleanups.
