Ah…nothing like a summer rain, huh? Fairhaven’s Got Pride did not get washed out. People just…stayed. How cool is that? See page 16 .
There are other pride events this weekend. See the happenings pages for those.
Acushnet has its annual Town Meeting on Monday (see page 4). So, it’s time for our annual publishing of employee salaries, too. See page 13 for that.
I’d love to wax poetic about stuff, but I’m crazy late this week. It’s not only tomorrow already, but the sun is up.
The Fairhaven Select Board had a super long meeting. I concentrated on just a couple of the fun items (see pages 4 & 27). I mean, one can only get so much in here, right? The Planning Board is in it again. This time they’re mostly not happy because they were out of the loop. But our friend Patrick Carr, and now his buddy Ruy DaSilva, are back in the spotlight. Really guys….
The Father’s Day Road Race is this weekend. Big doings in Fairhaven (see page 5). Someone please tell the Universe that it is officially mid-June okay?
It’s been COLD out there.
All the summer activities are picking up. And lots of “Save the Date” events. So be sure to hang onto each issue for a bit.
Weve got some sad news, too. Dorothea Machado, the proud Navy veteran who spoke at events the last few years, has passed away (see obituary on page 23). I spoke with her on a few occasions, not least of which was her 100th birthday not too long ago.
Smooth sailing to you Dorothea. We all learned a lot from you, mostly about how to enjo life and stay positive. She said the key to her aging well was to hang around young people as much as possible. Then of course she wa quick to add that everyone was younger than her! She had a good sense of humor, too. Smooth sailing to you, Dorothea. Smooth sailing
There’s other stuff in here, of course. So, check out each and every page and be sure to notice who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
Until next week then, see ya,
Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
