New Bedford Film Festival is this weekend

The New Bedford Film Festival celebrates authentic cinematic stories, cultivates bold storytellers, and champions the city’s growing creative economy. NBFF takes place in the vibrant city of New Bedford on the South Coast region of Massachu­setts from Thursday, 4/18/24, through Sunday, 4/21. Films run from Friday, 4/19, through Sunday, 4/21, from 10 or 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., at a variety of venues in downtown New Bedford.

While the screenings and workshops are available for no cost throughout the city, seating is limited at all locations. If you wish to attend a specific screening, non-ticket holders will line up and gain admission five minutes before it starts. Ground Floor’s first floor networking room is free entry. You can also access any screening and workshop free, if there is room after VIP ticket holders arrive. Opening night is also free, but closing night is ticket holders only.

Opening night pre­senta­tion is Thurs., 4/18, 6–8 p.m., New Bedford Whaling Museum, 18 Jonny Cake Hill, NB, featuring presentation of awards: Best Cineme­tography, Best Editing, Best Production Design, Best Ward­robe, Best Original Score, Best PSA.

Thurs., 4/18, 8:30–11:30 p.m., Opening Night VIP After Party, NB Harbor Hotel, 222 Union Street.

Fri., 4/19, 10 a.m.–6 p.m., panels and workshops, Ground Floor Coffee, 61 Merrill’s Wharf, NB.

Fri., 4/19, from 7–10 p.m., net­working night, Ground Floor Coffee, 61 Merrills Wharf; 10 p.m.–1 a.m., after party, NB Harbor Hotel, 222 Union Street.

Sat., 4/20, from 7–10 p.m., networking night, Ground Floor Coffee, 61 Merrills Wharf, featuring Presentation of awards, Best Song of a Music Video, Best Original Song in a Film. 10 p.m.–1 a.m., after party, NB Harbor Hotel, 222 Union St.

Sun., 4/21, 5:30–6:30 p.m., VIP Cocktail Hour, Gallery X, 169 William St., NB; 7–10:30 p.m., Award Ceremony, Steeple Playhous, 159 William St., NB; 10:30 p.m.–Midngiht, Award Ceremony After Party, NB Harbor Hotel, 222 Union St.
