We have 14 on our Halloween Trail this year. Not bad, not bad at all, especially since we KNOW there are more on many of those blocks. But, these 14 will get you started.
Halloween is on a Tuesday this year, which is awkward. But I know you guys will all get out there.
You may notice my house is not on the trail this year. Sorry, folks, I just can’t get my act together. Maybe next year. But I’ll be here with candy to hand out. So, stop by anyway.
Be sure to look on pages 5, 6, 7 for other Halloween happenings this weekend.
Believe it or not, we have other news this week. Really.
Famous mystery writer Joan Livingston was at the Millicent. She’s a Fairhaven native. What fun! Really, and I think she had fun, too. Read all about it on page 14.
The Select Board held a pinning ceremony for two Fire Department lieutenants. See page 3 for that.
Oh, and other stuff happened at that meeting, too. Apparently the nasties are out in force. Geesh. C’mon guys. You think this is DC and you’re all Trump wannabes? Cut the crap, will ya. You don’t like the job she’s doing, lobby your elected officials to get rid of her. Don’t be calling her names. Grow the f up. You really don’t like her or what she’s doing? Fine, you have that right. But, pray tell, how is calling her names going to help? If you have a legitimate gripe, take it to the right people, fight her on the merits of your argument. Take your foolishness home where you can scream at the TV.
Show a little respect, even if you don’t feel it. Be civil. It won’t kill you. I promise. Yeah, yeah, I said the F word to someone a couple of weeks ago. Gulp. Hey, no one’s perfect. I’ll try harder. I promise.
Acushnet rededicated Blain Square. Too bad no one is exactly sure where it ends or begins. Really. See page 4 for that.
