Well, it’s the last issue of the year, and just a couple of weeks away from Christmas.
The Christmas Spirit abounds in these parts, although there are some “bah humbugs” floating around.
But I won’t let them dampen my Christmas Spirit.
Now, all we need is a little bit of snow (just a little).
We have a delightful new addition to our Christmas lights this year (see page 19). It’s in Acushnet, right on Main Street, so just keep driving after you visit Milestone Farm and you’ll see lots of other great houses that are decorated. Gellette Road is at it again, and Santa will be there a couple of days.
The Old Time Holiday event was this past weekend (see page 12). That was lots of fun, a great way to get into the spirit of the season. Lots of people were walking around the center, all in a good mood and spreading cheer on a crisp winter day. If you missed it, check out the happenings pages for a couple of events that might get you in the spirit.
Then, onto the new year.
First Night celebration in Boston is a go. Honestly, I’m not sure about New Bedford. By the time I remembered to ask, they were not getting back to me by press time. So, I added it to the list (see page 3), and I’m sure downtown will be hopping, but…not sure about those fireworks.
And, also before we return on 1/6, is the annual Polar Plunge at Fort Phoenix on New Year’s Day (see page 3).
BRRRR….I do NOT do that. I take pictures of other people doing that.
So, here’s to next year. May it be healthy and prosperous for you and yours.
Until next year then… see ya,
Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to the Heroes!
