Well, this is it. The LAST issue of the Neighb News…just kidding! It’s the last issue before my two-week summer break.
I tried to get more happenings in here to carry you through the next few weeks. The city of NB, however, didn’t get its fireworks info out by press time, so you’ll have to wing it there. In any case, lots of happenings and fun events are spread throughout the issue, so be sure to check out each page.
Our cover story has been MIA the last couple of years because of the pandemic. The Fairhaven Road Race was back with lots of enthusiasm. Glenn got out there nice and early to get the pics. They even let him get up into the bucket truck. There was a price, though: He had to announce the start of the race with all the thanks and the signal to fire off the little cannon to start.
So, how cool is THAT?
I have it on good authority that he did a great job. Unfortunately, I wasn’t there to get a picture of him in the bucket. So, if anyone got one that they are willing to share, please send it in.
We have Town Meeting coverage for you this week. See page 4 to find out how your tax dollars got spent.
The West Island breakfasts are back, too. See page 18 for some pics of Sunday’s, and page 5 for the next one.
It’s summertime! This weekend is the Homecoming Day Fair and Fairhaven’s Got Pride (see page 3).
The town will also hold its annual July 4th parade and car cruise, and will raise the big flag at the high school (see page 3). And the concerts in the center will start while we are gone (see page 5).
Well, that’s it for now. Be sure to notice who our advertisers are so you can tell them you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
See ya on the 14th!
Glory to Ukraine!
