Winter finally sends snow and poof! It’s gone.

February 3, 2021 by Staff Writer

The region saw a whopper of a storm on Monday with high winds, snow, sleet and rain. Along the coast, the snow disappeared overnight when mostly rain fell. Inland, snowfalls ranged from a couple of inches to a foot, while the western part of the state got up to 15 inches in some places, and the northern part of the state got closer to 20 inches. Lowell recorded the highest at 24 inches, then East Action at 21.8 inhces, Hudson at 20.9 inches, Littleton at 20.4 inches, and Wilmington at 20 inches (totals from channel 10 Boston, nbcboston.com)

James Mahaney captured this image of a woman walking in the snow in the center of Fairhaven on 2/1/21 and decided to experiment with “digital art,” processing the photo to look like a painting. Photo courtesy of James Mahaney.
