Yogaguru has actually been around for quite a few months, now, but that did not stop the town and business from enjoying a ribbon cutting on 4/25/25 to celebrate.
Vineeta Mattos owned and operated Yogaguru in New Bedford, and recently moved to Fairhaven. She said they offer yoga, pilates, meditation, strength training, fitness training.
“A lot of people are talking about this place,” said Cathy Melanson, Chairperson of the Fairhaven Economic Development Committee. “She does a wonderful job. She put a lot of work into it.”
And if you work out here, she said, you put a lot of work into it too.
Ms. Melanson said it was good for the town and good for the business to be in Fairhaven.
“It’s their dream, and we are happy to help them with their dream,” she said.
She also read a statement from Alyssa Botelho, Director of Community Development, saying she was excited that the studio helps create a sense of community by bringing people into town.
Fairhaven Select Board Chairperson Charlie Murphy thanked them for choosing Fairhaven.
“Thank you for being the heart of our community,” he said.
Rep. Mark Sylvia presented a citation from the Mass. House of Representatives, noting, “There’s so much happening in Fairhaven.
Ms. Mattos said it took a long time to get there, but since they moved she has met “amazing people.”
“It’s all hers,” said Vineeta’s husband, Tim. “I’m the supporting actor. This is her dream, that she worked hard on the last 10 years.”
Yogaguru is located at 152 Huttleston Avenue (Route 6) in Fairhaven. They are open from 6:15 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., seven days a week. They offer a variety of structured classes from beginner to advanced with 16 different instructors.
