The students of the Leroy L. Wood School in Fairhaven reached their goal and collected enough food to feed 100 families. The school celebrated with a Pie Daddy and Mommy contest on Wednesday, 11/27/19. Each class had a champion to represent it in the contest, and the winner got a big trophy to be displayed in the winning classroom until next year.
Dan Fuller, representing Mrs. Rock’s fourth grade class, won the trophy in a pie-off round, eating his pie the fastest, and making his niece Teagan Downey very proud.

Contestants are encouraged to make a grand entrance, and they do, dressing in crazy costumes, choosing their own theme music, and getting some high-fives from cheering students as they enter the hall for this year’s Pie Daddy and Mommy Contest at the LL Wood School in Fairhaven on 11/27/19, an event held as a reward for the children collecting enough food to feed 100 families during their Thanksgiving food drive.
