The LL Wood School in Fairhaven held its annual Veterans Day event on Wednesday, 11/8, to recognize the veterans in the lives of elementary school students. Approximately 40 veterans attended the school-wide assembly. The program included several opportunities for students to recognize veterans, including a tank-you song, and an historical piece read by student Elaine Monroe about the experience of a very special veteran in her life, Daniel Hankins. Mr. Hankins was deployed to Bosnia and Herzegovina and received a medal called the “Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.”
