WHALE (Waterfront Historic Area League) is excited to launch a new live virtual tour series on our Instagram throughout the month of April. We hope these weekly tours help us stay connected to our historic past and exciting future. The schedule for virtual tours is:
• Friday, April 3 at 10:00: 1060 Pleasant Street Take a tour of this historic property which will serve 20 Veterans and add 10 units of Veterans transitional housing to New Bedford.
• Friday, April 10 at 10:00: Strand Theater Learn about two transformative North End projects, the Cape Verdean Cultural Center & Island Park, which will become the grand entrance to the International Marketplace along Acushnet Avenue.
• Friday, April 17 at 10:00: 305-307 Pleasant St. Join us in celebrating success in the South Central neighborhood with the restoration of an historic two-family house.
For those of you who missed the First Baptist Church tour, the video will be shared on Thursday, 4/9, for Virtual AHA! (http://www.aha newbedford.org/calendar.php)
Now is a really tough time for the entire world including the non-profit community, but a great time for you to connect with WHALE and become a Member, Partner in Preservation, or Soiree Host .
