The annual West Island Regatta will be held at Hoppy’s Landing, 50 Goulart Memorial Drive, Fairhaven, on Sat., 8/13, starting at 10:30 a.m., featuring a variety of small sailboats, such as Sunfish, lasers, monohuls, Hobie Cats. Registration is $15 pp and includes BBQ lunch, which will include burgers, hot dogs, chips and soft drink (BYOB). Spectators may also join the lunch for a fee. Email pcasey@ flowassessment.com for details and to RSVP so they can get a count for the cookout.
The race is an informal, friendly sailing competition designed to present a sporting challenge to experienced and novice sailors. The regatta is open to everyone, Fairhaven residency is not a requirement so we encourage everyone with a beachable sailboat to participate.
