West Island 5K, PTO giant yard sale on tap for weekend

Spring events abound this week­end, including the West Island 5K, the first Fairhaven High School PTO giant yard sale, and the Little League opener.

West Island 5K

Seventh West Island 5K Run/Walk & Kids Mile, Sunday, April 29. Kids Mile:  10:00am; 5K Run/Walk: 11:00am

Register at westisland5k.org OR on person Sat., 4/28, 1–4 p.m. and Sun., 4/29, beginning at 8 a.m.; West Island Improvement Association Com­mu­nity House, 41 Causeway Rd., Fairhaven. All proceeds go to the Fairhaven High School Cross Country program and to the non-profit, Strive and Achieve www.striveandachieve. org

WI 5K Pre Race Dinner

Spaghetti Dinner, Sat., 4/28, 4:00-6:00pm, West Island Improvement Association, 41 Causeway Rd., Fairhaven. All tickets are $5 at the door. All proceeds go to the FHS Cross Country program and scholarships for skilled trade education and training.

FHS PTO Yard Sale

The Fairhaven High School PTO is holding a huge yard sale on Sat., 4/28, from 9–11 a.m. in the school’s parking lot. 100% of the proceeds goes to the PTO. Available items will include housewares, furniture, clothing, toys, and more.

Bike Path Cleanup

Join us for the 5th Annual Fair­haven Bike Path Volunteer Clean Up, on Sun. 4/29, anytime from 9am-12. Registration behind the Rec Center

Please join us in a volunteer clean-up effort for the Fairhaven Bike Path. Together we can help keep our town looking great for residents and our visitors.

We will have some gloves and bags available to use courtesy of Rockys Ace Hardware. Pickers will be available from Operation Clean Sweep. Please bring your own gloves if you have them.

All volunteers will be entered into a raffle to win a gift card from Stop and Shop. Free donuts and coffee  by BRW Property Services.

Tennis Clinics

The Fairhaven Tennis Association is now offering tennis clinics for juniors 16 and Under.   Our first session will start on Sunday April 29th h and go for five weeks. For our first session clinics will be held on Sundays s and Thursdays  at Cushman Park.  Our second, third, and fourth sessions will be on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday To register go to our web site at www.fairhaventennis.og and click on the link on the left side of the page for 16 and Under.  Our pro Aaron Petruski will be heading up our instructional Program. Aaron is the pro at the Lakeville Indoor Tennis Club and is considered one of the leading tennis instructors in the area. For more information call Ken at 508-280-3150.

Senior Talent Show

Come join us on April 29th from 2–4 pm at Fairhaven Town Hall, 40 Center St.,  for our 3rd Annual Senior Talent Showcase. Come watch the seniors in our community showcase their talent. If you know anyone who would like to participate please get in touch with our chairperson MK @ 508-330-4837. This is a free event to watch and free to participate. Accessible.
