Serenity Lane got a fun surprise on Friday, 8/9/24, when the Fairhaven police and fire departments drove by her house on West Island with sirens blasting and lights flashing.
Young Serenity, just 10 years old, had just returned home after several weeks at Boston Children’s Hospital fighting off a life-threatening infection.
Ms. Lane is still not completely healed, but is doing well and will hopefully be well enough to start school on time.
Serenity told the Neighb News she was surprised, but other than that, was uncharacteristically speechless.
“Unbelievable,” said her Uncle, Brian Garceau.
“Awesome,” said Serenity’s Papa, Big John.
The family wants to thank everyone who reached out while Serenity was sick, and especially the PD and FD for making her homecoming special.
