Free Concerts
Concerts Under the Stars, Thursday evenings to August 8, 7 to 9 p.m., Town Hall steps, 40 Center Street, Fairhaven. This series of outdoor summer concerts is sponsored by the Fairhaven Improvement Association with the Southern Mass Credit Union and additional sponsorship by local businesses. Bring your own lawn chairs or blankets. Free. In the event of rain, concerts will be held inside Town Hall.
• 7/25, Red Handed. Get ready to dance in the street. Red Handed delivers pop, disco, and Motown classics. It’s going to be a party.
• 8/1, South Coast Jazz Orchestral Come out and hear some of the Southcoast’s finest jazz musicians. This 16-piece band performs an eclectic mix of jazz orchestra hits.
• 8/8, October Road/A Tribute to James Taylor. New England’s premier tribute to James Taylor. October Road recreates the unique vibrancy of a JT concert. Perfect for a summer night of music with friends and family

Fri., 7/26 (postponed from 7/18 due to rain), 10-11 a.m. FIRE DEPARTMENT FUN!! The Fairhaven Fire Department returns for their annual program at the Millicent Library, 45 Center St., Fairhaven. Fairhaven High School guided tour, by the Fairhaven Alumni Association: Friday, 7/26, at 10 a.m. Tour is 90 minutes. No reservation necessary. Meet in the rotunda.

Animal Shelter Open House
The public is invited to join the Fairhaven Animal Shelter, 200 Bridge St., for an open house on Sat., 7/27, from 10 a.m.–1 p.m., featuring face painting, 50/50 raffle, hot dogs for sale, and yard sale. We will also have animals up for adoption. We have dogs, cats, guinea pigs and some kittens that are ready for their forever homes. Thank you to Gary’s Best Hot Dogs for donating hot dogs and Paul’s Sports Corner for donating the use of their hot dog steamer. Hope to see everyone there!

Monday Morning Fun
Monday Morning Fun at the Visitors Center with the Buttonwood Park Zoomobile, Monday, 7/29, 9:00 to 11:30 a.m., program at 10:00 a.m. Fairhaven Visitors Center, 141 Main Street, Fairhaven
A fun morning for kids aged 5 to 12 and their parents or guardians on the lawn of the Visitors Center. Play old fashioned lawn games (bean bag toss, horse shoes, nine pins, frisbee, hula hoops, etc.), jump in a bounce house, get your face painted by Heart Body Arts, and more. On hot mornings, there will be sprinklers–bring a towel. Enjoy some Dorothy Cox’s “own made” ice cream, Del’s Frozen Lemonade, and bottled water.
At 10:00, the Buttonwood Park Zoomobile will be here with live animals from the zoo!

Mayor Jon Mitchell Presents The Summer Sound Series, an annual all Summer long Music Series of Free Concerts on the pier from 6-8pm. Parking is available at Elm Street Garage within walking distance of City Pier 3. July 26: Perfect Example (Old-school soul and R&B); August 2: Home Brewed (Classic, new country, Americana, rock & roll, oldies); August 9: Hipshot (Dance music, then and now)
